Stanford Research Systems SR570 Amplifier

The Stanford Research Systems SR570 Low-Noise Current Preamplifier is a versatile and highly sensitive instrument designed for precise current measurements in various scientific and engineering applications. With its wide range of sensitivity settings, advanced filtering options, and low-noise performance, the SR570 is ideal for photonic detection, low-temperature research, and other fields requiring high-precision current amplification.

Key Features

  • Wide Sensitivity Range: The SR570 offers adjustable sensitivity settings from 1 pA/V to 1 mA/V, selectable in a 1-2-5 sequence, allowing users to fine-tune the gain for specific measurement needs.
  • Adjustable Gain Modes: Users can allocate gain to different stages of the amplifier to optimize performance for low noise, high bandwidth, or low drift. The low noise mode places gain at the front end of the amplifier, while the high bandwidth mode improves the frequency response by allocating gain to the later stages.
  • Advanced Filtering Options: Includes two first-order RC filters that can be configured as low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filters with adjustable cutoff frequencies ranging from 0.03 Hz to 1 MHz.
  • Input Offset and DC Bias: Features adjustable input offset currents (±1 pA to ±1 mA) and a DC bias voltage (±5 V), enabling the suppression of unwanted background currents and precise current sinking.
  • Battery Operation: Equipped with rechargeable lead-acid batteries, the SR570 can operate for up to 15 hours on battery power. The internal battery charger automatically maintains the batteries’ optimal condition.
  • RS-232 Interface: Allows for remote control of all instrument functions (except power on) with opto-isolated electronics to minimize noise interference.
  • No Digital Noise: The microprocessor runs “asleep” except during brief setup changes, ensuring no digital noise contaminates low-level analog signals.
