TDS8000B Digital Sampling Oscilloscope Overview

The TDS8000B offers unparalleled onboard measurement and waveform-processing capabilities among ultra-high bandwidth oscilloscopes. Known for its outstanding measurement repeatability, exceptional vertical resolution, and rapid waveform acquisition and display update rates, the TDS8000B excels in semiconductor testing, TDR characterization of circuit boards, IC packages, cables, and high-speed digital communications.

Advanced Waveform Acquisition
The state-of-the-art timebase of the TDS8000 Series enables time sweep speeds from 1.0 ps/div to 5 ms/div with record lengths ranging from 20 to 4000 points and a sample interval down to 10 femtoseconds (0.01 ps). Additionally, the timebases of the 8000 Series Oscilloscopes can be synchronized with a 10 MHz reference, providing enhanced long-term stability and the ability to synchronize multiple TDS8000Bs with other testing equipment and devices under test.

Enhanced Viewing and Sampling Rates
The TDS8000B features two magnification windows for high-resolution re-acquisition of waveform sections, and boasts the highest sample rate among sampling oscilloscopes. Its multi-processor architecture with dedicated digital signal processors per channel ensures top waveform acquisition rates.

Unmatched TDR Performance
With the 80E04 TDR Sampling Module, the TDS8000B delivers unparalleled TDR functionality on up to eight channels simultaneously, featuring independently adjustable polarity step-generators for each channel, providing the only true differential TDR system available today.

Robust Platform and Connectivity
Built on Tektronix’s robust sampling oscilloscope platform, the TDS8000B integrates MS Windows-based PC technologies with advanced waveform acquisition technology. It includes a variety of interfaces and mass storage options, along with a large, full-color display for detailed waveform analysis. The system’s open Windows environment allows for sophisticated data analysis using commercially available software, and with TekVISA™, it can be controlled by software applications running either on the instrument or on network-connected external PCs.
